Our story began in November 2019 on a night out in Kilkenny. Just a month after we started dating, Linda headed off on a trip to Australia that had been booked long before we met. While the distance could have been challenging, it only brought us closer. Linda returned home in January 2020, and shortly after, Covid changed everything. Despite the uncertainty, we couldn’t be kept apart for long and moved in together later that year. In 2022, Kieran proposed in our new home, a moment we will always cherish.

Planning our wedding was such an exciting time for us. We always knew we wanted a church ceremony in Ballinakill, Co. Laois, and after visiting a few venues across Kilkenny and Carlow, Newpark Hotel immediately stood out. From our very first visit, the wedding planning team were exceptional. No request ever felt too big or too small, and we were supported every step of the way. One of our favourite parts of the planning process was choosing our menu and enjoying a wonderful tasting evening with delicious food.

Our wedding day on the 6th of May 2023 was truly magical. From the moment we arrived, the service at Newpark Hotel was outstanding. The staff were incredible, calm, attentive and never once made us feel rushed. They took such great care of our guests, and we received so many compliments on the food, décor and overall experience. Both the reception and the meal were absolutely delicious and served piping hot to all 250 of our guests. The wedding room itself was beautifully set up, elegant and spacious, creating the perfect atmosphere for our celebration.

At the end of the night, we retired to the stunning bridal suite, complete with a hot tub and the most thoughtful personalised gifts to keep as mementos of our day. These extra touches meant so much to us and perfectly reflected the care shown throughout our entire experience. Our wedding at Newpark Hotel was completely stress-free and truly the best day of our lives. It was magical, memorable and everything we had hoped for. The team went above and beyond, and we couldn’t recommend Newpark Hotel more highly as a wedding venue.
