Responsible to : Executive Head Chef/Head Chef
The Pastry Chef is responsible for the production and presentation of pastries to Newpark Hotel Standards. They are also responsible for maintaining their area of work to the highest hygiene standards and to observe a proper system of food preparation and storage.
Main Duties:
To prepare pastries as directed by the Head Chef.
To ensure proper use of kitchen equipment and maintain personal safety at all times.
To actively participate in any training and personnel excercises designed to improve standards and performance levels .
To carry out the Hotel’s customer relation policy.
To ensure a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming.
To ensure foods are correctly prepared using the proper fresh ingredients .
To report for duty on time and in correct uniform.
To be fully familiar with Newpark Hotel menus – and all menus .
To carry out all duties requested by the Head Chef.
To be responsible for cleaning of your work area .To maintain specific work practices i.e. use of proper footwear and uniform, correct use of equipment and clean as you go work practices.
To notify management or HOD of accidents and complete the necessary Accident Report Forms.
To observe all safety rules and procedures, including those laid down in the Health & Safety Statement for your place of work.
Requirements:
Previous experience working as a Pastry Chef, with a minimum of 6-8 years experience.
Currently residing in Ireland
Culinary certificates required.
Hotel Experience an advantage
Excellent communication skills
Flexibility- this role requires shift work, midweek & weekends.
